With their new Java SE7 certification credentials, Oracle is raising the bar for Oracle certifications. The new and improved Java SE7 certification will be released late 2011. It emphasizes more advanced skills required of Java programmers that meets industry standards and results in an even more valuable credential for you. Java SE7 certifications include Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) and Oracle Certified Programmer (OCP) certifications. The OCA Java SE7 certification requires successfully completing a single exam: 1Z0-803: Java SE 7 Programmer I without any pre-requisites. While Certified Java Associates can pursue the OCP Java SE7 certification by completing exam 1Z0-804: Java SE 7 Programmer II.
Oracle released the 1Z0-083: Java SE 7 Programmer I exam on Sept 29, 2011. However, the 1Z0-804: Java SE 7 Programmer II exam is planned for release later this year.
Professionals who hold previous version Professional-level Java Programmer certification (SCJP or OCPJP any edition), can upgrade to OCP Java SE7 certification by passing one upgrade exam: 1Z0-805: Upgrade to Java SE 7 Programmer, which was also released on Sept 29, 2011.
I know java but would like to get certified to beef up my resume. A concern of mine is that this certification is almost a year old.
I do not want to spend money on a book and test that will be obsolete when the new one is written. What was the time difference SE6 and SE7 was it one year?
When is the next test going to be written?
Thanks,
Keith
